50 Would You Rather Questions That Will Start Arguments
Would You Rather is the simplest game in existence — two options, pick one — and somehow it produces more heated arguments than politics and pineapple-on-pizza combined.
The secret is in the question design. Bad Would You Rather questions have an obvious answer. Great ones make you genuinely uncomfortable because both options reveal something about who you are.
These are the great ones.
How to Play Would You Rather
You already know, but for completeness:
- Someone reads a "Would you rather..." question with two options
- Everyone picks one (no "neither" allowed — that's cowardice)
- Defend your choice
- Watch friendships dissolve in real-time
House rules we recommend:
- Everyone must answer before anyone explains their reasoning
- You CAN ask follow-up questions to understand someone's logic
- "It depends" is not an answer

Why Would You Rather Works So Well
It's not just a game — it's a values test disguised as entertainment. Every answer reveals priorities, fears, and philosophy. That's why it sparks genuine debates: you're not arguing about hypotheticals, you're arguing about how to live.
The best questions don't have right answers. They have your answer, and watching someone pick the opposite forces you to understand a completely different worldview.
