50 Drinking Games for 2 People (2026 Guide)

Beer pong requires a table, cups, and at least four people who think they have better aim than they do. But what about when it's just the two of you — a couple on date night, two friends killing a bottle of wine, or roommates with nothing to do on a Tuesday?

These 50 drinking games are designed for exactly two players. No elaborate setup. No extra equipment. Just two people, drinks, and a willingness to get a little competitive.

Card Games (You Need a Deck)

1. Higher or Lower

Flip a card face up. Player 2 guesses if the next card is higher or lower. Wrong guess = drink. Simple, effective, surprisingly tense when you hit a run.

2. Across the Bridge

Lay 10 cards face down in a row. Player flips them one by one. Number cards are safe. Face cards = drink (Jack = 1 sip, Queen = 2, King = 3, Ace = finish your drink). Replace face cards and keep going until you cross all 10.

3. Red or Black

Guess the color of the next card. Wrong = drink. Right = you assign a drink. Repeat until the deck runs out or you run out of drinks.

4. War (Drinking Edition)

Classic War card game rules. Loser of each battle drinks. In a "war" (tie), both drink. Winner of the war makes the loser take an extra sip.

5. Pyramid

Build a pyramid with cards face down (5-4-3-2-1). Flip cards row by row. If you're holding a matching number, assign drinks. Bottom row = 1 sip, top row = 5 sips. Bluffing is allowed and encouraged.

6. Two Truths and a Lie (Drinking Edition)

Each person shares two truths and one lie. If your partner guesses wrong, they drink. If they guess right, you drink. Gets increasingly revealing as the night goes on.

Take turns saying "never have I ever..." If the other person HAS done it, they drink. Way more targeted with just two people — you can get personal.

Both count to three and point at who's most likely to [whatever]. If you both point at the same person, that person drinks. If you disagree, you both drink.

9. The Movie Game

Player 1 names an actor. Player 2 names a movie they were in. Player 1 names another actor from that movie. Continue until someone gets stuck — they drink.

10. Song Lyric Challenge

Player 1 says a word. Player 2 has 5 seconds to sing a song containing that word. Fail = drink. Switch and repeat.

11. The Category Game

Pick a category (types of cheese, Marvel movies, capital cities). Take turns naming items. First person who repeats one or can't think of one drinks.

12. Would You Rather (Drinking Edition)

Ask "would you rather" questions. If you both choose the same answer, you're safe. Different answers = both drink. The real fun is in the debates.

13. Thumb Master

At any point during the evening, one person can silently place their thumb on the table. The last person to notice and place theirs down drinks. Trade the "thumb master" role after each round.

Dice Games

21. Sevens

Roll two dice. If the total is 7, drink. If it's doubles, make a rule. If it's 11, assign a drink. Everything else, pass the dice.

22. Mexican (Liar's Dice)

Roll two dice secretly. Announce your "score" (higher die is the tens digit — e.g., 5 and 3 = 53). The next player must roll higher or call your bluff. Caught lying = drink. False accusation = you drink.

43. Speed Facts

Set a timer for 30 seconds. Name as many facts about a topic as possible (countries in Europe, dog breeds, Taylor Swift songs). Fewer facts = drink the difference.

44. The Accent Game

Take turns talking in accents. If your partner correctly guesses the accent, you drink. If they can't guess, they drink.
